Who am I?

Hello, I’m Luong Trong Ha, also known as Louis Ha. Born in Vietnam, I spent my early childhood immersed in a ‘moving’ life, transitioning from south Vietnam to Hai Duong. This nomadic lifestyle laid the foundations of my resilience and adaptability, traits that have become invaluable in my creative journey. When I was five, my mom ventured to Germany to pave a brighter path for our family. In 2011, I joined her in Leipzig, and I’m now based in Frankfurt and Leipzig.

Art has always been an integral part of my life. From participating in painting classes and competitions in Vietnam to being recognized with an art certificate during my Abitur in Germany, my fascination with the visual world has never waned. This passion for aesthetics eventually led me down the path of fashion after high school graduation, when I decided to study fashion design at Vitruvius Hochschule, now known as Macromedia University in Leipzig.

My designs reflect a seamless blend of my Vietnamese heritage and German influences, a rich tapestry woven from two diverse cultures. Nature, with its tranquility and captivating beauty, serves as my perennial muse, influencing my creations. My interest in embroidery, driven by my love for nature’s aesthetic, has allowed me to explore new facets of textile manipulation, adding depth to my designs.

In my free time, I turn to yoga and nature, both offering a sanctuary where I can connect my body and soul and draw further inspiration. Come, join me on this exciting journey as we celebrate the beauty of fashion, design, and the vibrant world around us.

Experiences

My career journey is a story that weaves creativity with resilience. It all began with designing uniforms for Konsum Leipzig and crafting a unique ball dress for Leipzig’s first lady. Then, in 2019, I found my work shining in the limelight, claiming the runner-up spot at the Leipziger Opernball Fashion Award.

In the same year, I brought Ha de Lou Design to life - a fashion brand where creativity meets wearability, celebrating the diversity of feminine beauty. From Berlin Fashion Week to Leipzig’s bustling shopping windows, my collections have spoken their own language of style.

Currently, I’m stepping beyond the traditional and exploring the realm of gender-fluid fashion, broadening my creative landscape. Amidst this evolution, my affection for embroidery remains unfading, tying my work closely to the intricate beauty of nature.

My journey also led me to the lecture halls of my alma mater, teaching digital pattern making and textile fabric manipulation/design. It’s a way to kindle the creative spark in the designers of tomorrow.

Stepping into the realm of film, I’ve worked as a creative director, bringing visuals to life in projects like the Netflix-sponsored short film, “The Little Parrot”.

Parallelly, I’ve painted a vivid online portrait through a significant social media presence. Recognizing the power of digital aesthetics, I founded a social media agency, aiming to fill the digital space with engaging and artistic content.

Come along on this journey where the threads of fashion, design, and digital trends intertwine, telling a story of passion, creativity, and an enduring love for design.
