Who am I?


Hi beautiful people!! My name is Tu, I'm from Vietnam and I'm currently living in Frankfurt, Germany. Food always has a special place in me and vietnamese food is one of my homesick memories. Even though I was a food blogger in my country, I first fell in love with cooking when I moved here 5 years ago and it has been my passion ever since. For me, cooking must be a combination of techniques and...love, as when I cook for you, I will try my best to not just satisfy your tongue but also.. conquer your heart ;) ok enough flirty joke for now, I'm very happy to be a part of Joylist community and I would love to introduce people around the world to our Vietnamese food culture through my cooking spirit: authenticity, attention to detail and joy. Alright, fess up. Who here misses a good bowl of phở after a long day? Yep, that was me after I swapped the bustling streets of Hanoi for the charming towns of Germany. See, back in Vietnam, I spent my days diving headfirst into the world of food as a restaurant critic at Foody.vn, Vietnam's biggest review platform. Think countless bowls of phở, mountains of bánh mì, and enough nem (spring rolls, for the uninitiated) to fuel a small army. This gave me a serious case of "gotta-know-how-they-do-it." Fast forward to Germany, and I became the resident "chef" for my friends and also, well, a "significant other". My aunt even told me that my pickiness in the kitchen might have scared off a few potential partners. But hey, that "pickiness" turned into a compliment, and with motivation from some friends in gastronomie, I launched my Vietnamese cooking classes since 2021!
